Catholic Religious Emblems

 

There are four Catholic Religious Emblems available for Boys of the Catholic faith. Each program is age level appropriate and comes with a booklet. The family directs boys ages 7 -11 and a registered Counselor directs the boys 12 - 18. The program should not be used as a substitute for, but instead a complement to, the religious education provide by the Church and Family.

Upon completion, the Parish Coordinator will assist the Catholic Scouts in submitting their applications to the Stockton Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting. Applications are reviewed and approved by the Stockton Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting. Scouts then receive their awards during Mass at Sacred Heart Church and attend an annual recognition ceremony held at the Cathedral in Stockton with Bishop Steven Blaire.

Light of Christ - The Light of Christ emblem (grade 1-2) encourages Tiger Cubs and Wolf Cub Scouts to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. With the active participation of the parents, we hope that the Scout will come to see Jesus as a real person and friend.

Parvuli Dei - The Parvuli Dei emblem (grades 3-5) is designed to help Bear and Webelos Cub Scouts become more aware of God's presence in their daily lives, especially in their homes and communities. The program is preformed with the assistance of the Scout's parents.

Ad Adtare Dei - The Ad Adtare Dei emblem (grade7-12) assist Boy Scouts of the Latin Rite to develop a fully Christian way of life in their faith communities. The program is organized in steps based on the seven sacraments. These sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual growth. An approved religious emblem counselor assists scouts in the program.

Pope Pius II - The Pope Pius XII emblem (registered youth members in at least grade 9) is for both Venturers (male and female) and Boy Scouts. The program deals with different life choices (single, married, religious, ordained), occupations and ministries in the church as calls from God. Youth are assisted in this program by an approved adult. facilitator.

Family of God - For Girls ages 7-9 is a series developed to help girls as members of their family and parish, explore a wide range of activities to discover the presence of God in their daily lives.

 

I Live my Faith - For girls ages 9-11 is planned to help girls appreciate more deeply the place of God and religion in their life.

 

Marian Medal- for youth ages 12 - 15 involves participants in an understanding of Mary as a model of openness and spiritual, a woman of the Church.

 

The Spirit Alive .. for young ladies ages 15 -17 helps then discover the Holy Spirit acting in their lives through a program of research, dialogue and activities.
